With Winter still in full swing, we're all wondering what activities there are to do while staying warm. Well friends, look no further! Charlotte has so much to offer including a lot of fun INDOOR activities:
Anyone can enjoy a fun round (or rounds) of bowling with friends but what's even more fun is being able to bowl while enjoying a local craft brew and a side of barbecue. Charlotte's Ten Park Lanes bowling alley is not just your traditional bowling alley. This upscale venue has a full-service kitchen that boasts theregion's best barbecue, a great selection of craft beers and a moonshine bar! What more do you need to stay nice and cozy?
If bowling is not your thing, catch an Indie movie at Regal Manor Twin. The old theater and quiet environment really sets the ambience for well-crafted, small films. Typically only showing movies that are not showing in your local 16 screen mega-plex, this adorable theater has a lot of character to offer a place to see something original.
Exotic Animal Park
If you want an activity that's a little more interactive, go check out Lazy 5 Ranch to see over 750 animals from 6 different continents. The animals can be viewed by horse drawn wagon ride tour or from the comfort of your own vehicle while traveling along a 3-1/2 mile safari ride. This privately owned park is a great place to bring the kids as you can admire, enjoy and feed the animals along your tour. What a fun way to get out while still staying warm!
Staying inside doesn't mean you can't stay active. Visit Sky High Sports, a unique trampoline center, for a fun time the whole family can enjoy! You can free-jump, show off some back flips or join in on some organized activities like trampoline dodgeball. The trampolines have plenty of safety padding and supervisors all around so there's no need to fear, just have fun!
Tours and Simulators
Honoring the heritage and history of NASCAR, Uptown Charlotte's NASCAR Hall of Fame is an entertaining, interactive venue that is sure to please NASCAR fans and non-fans alike. Take a tour of the massive 40,000 sq ft exhibit then stop by the racing simulators for a thrilling experience of a driver on race day.
So there you have it. Don't let the cold weather this winter keep you from experiencing all the unique attractions Charlotte has to offer!
